Touring gear is for intermediate to advanced skiers who are comfortable on the mountain. The equipment is specially made to make uphill travel easy and downhill similar to a typical alpine experience. The skis detach at the heel for uphill travel and have a locking mechanism for downhill skiing. Skins are placed on the bottom of the skis to give alpine skis the ability to climb.

Inbound touring options are also available at TSV. To participate, go to the base of Chair 1 at 7 am and the ski patrol will scan your pass for uphill traffic. This means you will be one of the first people on the hill!
